LES SAISONS — GALERIE TALLIEN, ST TROPEZ — DANY LARTIGUE — 1975
Original exhibition poster created for Les Saisons by Dany Lartigue at Galerie Tallien in St Tropez in 1975. The composition reflects Lartigue’s light and imaginative style, with imagery inspired by the landscape and atmosphere of the French Riviera.
Dany Lartigue (1921–2017), son of photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue, developed a body of work centered on nature, color, and poetic interpretation of the environment. He lived for many years in St Tropez, where he established a home museum that included his artwork as well as an extensive collection of butterfly specimens. His work often conveys a strong connection to the natural surroundings of the region.
This poster was produced for an exhibition at Galerie Tallien, a gallery known for presenting posters and illustration in the South of France.

The “Menton – Mer, Monts et Merveilles” poster, created in 1960 by Russian-French artist Constantin Terechkovitch, beautifully captures the charm of this picturesque town on the Côte d’Azur. Terechkovitch, a renowned painter and close friend of Bonnard, Chagall, Miró, Picasso, and Matisse, lived in Menton and was deeply inspired by its coastal beauty. Poster printed for the Chemins de Fer Paris Lyon Mediterrannee circa 1930 with artwork by James Richard. Poster measures 24 x 39 inches and is in A condition and mounted on linen. Menton is found along the Cote D’Azur between Monte Carlo and Italy. Beautiful and rare poster for one of the premiere destinations in the French Riviera. This is an authentic original printing in lithography from the period by Lucien Serre Printers in Paris who did most of the PLM posters of the period.

This poster image was used both for celebrating 100 years of Savoie Region and also exists with the title Megeve. You can see its summertime with flowers about but in the background is the famous Mont Blanc which stays white with snow through the whole summer.
The “célèbre clocher à bulbes” (famous onion-shaped bell tower) in the Savoie region of France refers to the distinct bulbous bell towers found in many churches in the region. These towers, also known as “clochers à bulbes”, are a hallmark of Baroque architecture introduced in the 17th and 18th centuries, especially under the influence of the Counter-Reformation.
These onion-shaped domes are particularly common in alpine regions, including Savoie, and are a reminder of the strong religious influence in the area. One of the most famous examples in Savoie is the bell tower of the Saint-Martin Church in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, though many other towns and villages in Savoie feature similar structures.
