Chamonix–Strasbourg was created by Roger Broders in 1926 for the PLM (Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée) railway company to promote travel between the French Alps and Alsace. The design features two women in the traditional dress of their respective regions — the wide-brimmed bow headdress of Strasbourg and the alpine attire of Chamonix — standing against a backdrop that links snow-covered peaks to the architectural landmarks of eastern France.
Broders, one of France’s most celebrated travel poster artists, was known for his bold compositions, clear lines, and rich color palettes. This work reflects his signature style of pairing stylized landscapes with strong graphic design to capture the romance of rail travel in the interwar period.
Printed in Paris by Lucien Serre using lithography, this large-format poster has been mounted on linen for preservation and is in excellent “A” condition.

Original French poster for the Loterie Nationale – Tranche des Sports, created in 1939 by Edgard Derouet (1910–2001) and Charles Lesacq (1909–1940). The image depicts a strongman lifting barbells made of sacks of money, symbolizing the strength and reward of the national lottery’s sports edition.
Printed in Paris, France, this design reflects the clear geometric layout and bold visual language characteristic of late Art Deco French poster art on the eve of World War II. Both Derouet and Lesacq were recognized for their collaborations on public and commercial commissions, producing dynamic and accessible graphic work during the 1930s.

Poster by Bernard Villemot for Bally, first created in 1989. This example is from a later printing in the 1990s. Known as Bally Kick or Bally Globe, the design was issued in both large and small formats. The present example is the smaller size, offset lithograph.
Bernard Villemot (1911–1989) was one of the leading French poster artists of the postwar period. His simplified forms and bold use of color made his designs instantly recognizable. Villemot worked extensively with Perrier, Orangina, and Bally, producing some of the most enduring advertising images of the 20th century. Bally Kick represents his late work for the Swiss shoe company.
