With its mineral water source it was a destination for Parisians at the turn of the century as part of the PLM French Railways system. Hugo D’Alesi is the artist and also the printer for the PLM. Excellent and rare.

Les Arts by Jules Cheret poster for Les Affiches Illustrees were plates printed at the Chaix Imprimerie in 1896 that featured the most famous artist of the day. Cheret was a master printer and artist, but also inventor and created the first lithographs in Stone. This enabled him to make several passes of colors using a stone for each color. This typeof printing method would be too expensive today, but it is the most artistic way of printing. The plate is in excellent condition.

This plate presents Chéret’s design for the Eldorado, one of Paris’s best-known music halls. His composition features an energetic figure set against a bright, swirling background—an example of the style that made Chéret the father of the modern poster.
