Erberto Carboni (1899-1984) was a renowned Italian artist, known for his contributions to graphic design, illustration, and poster art. Initially trained as an architect, he shifted to graphic design, opening a studio in Parma where he created ads for local businesses. In 1932, he moved to Milan, working with Studio Boggeri and Olivetti, where he honed his design skills. Carboni became known for his stand designs at trade fairs, including the Italian Air Show (1934) and the Paris Expo (1936).
Post-WWII, Carboni continued in trade fair graphic design, notably at the Milan Fair, and crafted ads for brands like Olivetti, Shell, Barilla, and Bertolli. His style blended illustration with Bauhaus-inspired layouts, earning him numerous awards, including the National Prize for Advertising Graphics. Later in life, he turned to sculpture and painting, exhibiting his work at prestigious venues like the Venice Biennale (1972). Carboni’s legacy remains in his innovative designs and visual storytelling across various mediums.
