Gruau Rene

Rene Gruau was born in Rimini Italy a summer resort town in 1909. His mother took him to Paris and She being an Aristocrat, had many connections in society. He started his professional career at the age of 14. He actually moved to the USA in 1948 to work for Vogue and Harpers Bazaar after working for Christian Dior in Paris in 1947. His career in Fashion and Haute Couture is legendary and he also did many many posters for both the Lido and Moulin Rouge. His Poster for Felini's Dolce Vita in 1959 was a huge smash and continued working with Omega watches and Air fRance and Martini and others.
